The Six Bells Brewery was rescued and reopened in 1997 by “Big Nev” after being closed for almost one hundred years. Nev is the fourth generation of his family to be a brewer so you could say that real ale is in his blood!
The Six Bells Brewery only uses the best quality malt and hops as ingredients for our beer. We never use added sugars or processed ingredients which means you can always taste straight away the quality of a Six Bells pint.

ABV 4.3%; Colour: Brown
Traditional English Ale using the finest English hops to produce a distinctive yet delicate sweetness which does not distract from the delightful hop flavour.
ABV 5.5%; Colour: Pale
Citrus dominated Indain Pale Ale. Its immediate impression is soft and smooth, yet builds to a robust hoppiness with an enduring sustained bitter finish.
Six Bells Pub
The Six Bells Pub has been a fixture of Bishops Castle life since 1670. Today Sue, Nev's wife, runs the pub, its restaurant and traditional bar. It’s a friendly place, buzzing with the conversation of local artisans, artists and farmers. There are no fruit machines or piped music. In winter a good log fire keeps everyone cosy. The bar is traditional too, with a row of beer engines serving Six Bells ales. (Yes, you can buy Guinness, lager and keg cider here, but the pumps are tucked quietly out of the way.) Dogs welcome in the bar.
Six Bells Restaurant
The traditional wooden floored lounge is cosy and comfortable for dining. Lunch is served Tuesday to Sunday, with roast on Sunday. Dinner is served Tuesday to Saturday. Fine wines are available to accompany your meal.
